Kiev, Moscow & St. Petersburg Tour Package: 10 Days

Day 1: Kiev

We'll meet you as you arrive at Kiev airport before taking you to the hotel to check in.

Day 2: Kiev

The visits for this part of the tour will start in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. We'll be sure to visit the main monuments of this city on the banks of the Dnieper River. These include St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, the Golden Gate, the ancient triumphal entrance to the city and St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, a unique example of neo-Byzantine architecture.

Before we stop for lunch, we'll stroll along Kreshatick Street, the main street in Kiev. Once we've had lunch, we'll visit Saint Sophia Cathedral, whose construction began in 1037. Its beautiful structure in the Ukrainian baroque style plus its famous 13 domes have made this spot a World Heritage Site. After this tour of Kiev, you'll have the rest of the day free to explore at your leisure.

Day 3: Kiev - Moscow

After breakfast, we'll head to another one of Kiev's World Heritage Sites: the Cave Monastery. This breathtaking place is a large monastic complex that houses cathedrals, museums and caves with holy relics. We'll then stop for lunch and continue discovering the wonders of Kiev, such as Andriyivsky Uzviz Street and St. Andrew's Slope. We'll stroll along this street, the oldest in Kiev, to see the galleries and shops. This street is the ideal place to purchase a piece of Ukrainian craftsmanship as a souvenir!

In the evening, we'll take you to the station to hop on the night train across the Ukrainian-Russian border to Moscow. Sleep tight!

Day 4: Moscow

After a comfortable train journey, we'll arrive in Moscow bright and early in the morning. We'll drop our luggage off at the hotel and start a tour of the Russian capital. Our first stop, of course, will be the Red Square. Here, we'll discover the essence of Moscow as we admire the colourful St. Basil's Cathedral. We'll continue to learn about the fascinating history of the city by visiting one of its most important sites: Lenin's mausoleum, where the leader of the 1917 Soviet revolution is laid to rest.

You'll also have free time to browse the shops in the GUM, a department store from the imperial era. We'll then spend some time delving into the mysteries of the Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and the New Maiden's Monastery. Our day will finish with a stop at the observation deck of the Moscow State University, from which we'll have an incredible view of the federal capital.

Day 5: Moscow

Our fifth day will begin with an early start so we can visit the Kremlin, its cathedrals and gardens. This architectural complex was once home to the Tsars and is now the residence of the President of Russia. We'll be able to enter the iconic Armoury Museum, where weapons, armour and the precious Fabergé eggs are on display. Afterwards, we'll explore the Moscow Metro's uniquely beautiful stations with their mosaic decorations, stained glass windows and bronze sculptures.

Day 6: Moscow - St. Petersburg

We'll cap off our visit to Moscow with a visit to the majestic Kolomenskoye, the former residence used by the Tsars to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was here that Peter the Great spent his childhood before becoming one of the most prominent leaders of the Russian Empire. We'll see its ancient wooden buildings such as the Church of the Ascension, built by order of the Grand Prince Vasily III in honour of the birth of his heir, the future Ivan the Terrible.

After stopping at the hotel, we'll take you to the train station for the night train to St. Petersburg.

Day 7: St. Petersburg

As we pull into St. Petersburg, our driver will be waiting to take us to a local restaurant for breakfast before we start our guided tour of St. Petersburg, the ancient capital of Russia. We'll explore this beautiful city, known as the Venice of the North, and visit its most iconic monuments. These include the fortress of St. Peter and Paul, St. Isaac's Cathedral and the colourful Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood. Afterwards, we'll go to the cruiser Aurora, the legendary ship that marked the beginning of the revolution.

After a fun and history-packed day, we'll head to the hotel where we'll be spending the night.

Day 8: St. Petersburg

The entire morning of our second day in St. Petersburg will be spent visiting the Hermitage Museum, an important collection of over three million works of art. This museum is housed in the Winter Palace, the former official residence of the Russian Tsars until it was attacked by the Bolsheviks after Bloody Sunday, after which it was converted into the seat of the Provisional Government.

In this historic building, you'll see incredible artwork by master painters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Titian and Raphael, as well as Impressionist paintings, sculptures and imperial jewels. Once the guided tour is over, you'll be able to stay in the museum to explore all its rooms on your own, as you'll have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 9: St. Petersburg

After breakfast, we'll leave the city and set off for the majestic Peterhof. This complex, comprising a palace and park in the outskirts of St. Petersburg, was used as an imperial summer residence. We'll stroll through its beautiful 18th century parks and fountains as we marvel at the history of this amazing place. Afterwards, we'll return to St. Petersburg and you'll have the rest of the day free to relax and shop for souvenirs.

Day 10: St. Petersburg

After breakfast, we'll drive you to St. Petersburg airport in time for your return flight.
