On this excursion, we'll cross the border into Slovakia for a hiking tour through the Treetop Walk Bachledka and visit the Polish town of Zakopane.
Zakopane Excursion + Treetop Walk Bachledka
At 8 am on the morning of the tour, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Krakow and drive to the village of Ždiar, a minibus ride that will take about two and a half hours.
Once at our destination, we'll set off on a 40-minute hiking route that will take us to the amazing Treetop Walk Bachledka. This wooden platform, standing around 60-80 feet (18-24 meters) high, makes for an interesting tour of the Bachledka Valley from above the treetops.
Walking along this towering catwalk, we'll enjoy stunning views of the Slovakian forests, as well as the Tatra Mountains and Pieniny National Park. You won't be able to stop taking photos! If you come in winter, seeing this landscape completely covered in snow will leave you speechless!
We'll make our way down from the Treetop Walk Bachledka by slide or on foot, whichever you prefer, and return to the minibus. Then, we'll cross the border back into Poland and visit the city of Zakopane.
Did you know that Zakopane is known as the winter capital of Poland? It's a very popular town in the coldest months of the year because of the many skiing options it offers. We'll leave you two and a half hours of free time to explore this town.
Take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage, shop for handicrafts on Krupowki street, taste the exquisite local cuisine, see the beautiful wooden houses... These are just some of the many things you can do in Zakopane!
After free time, we'll regroup and finish the tour at 8 pm, dropping you off at your hotel.
