Embark on a day trip to Wieliczka Salt Mines, one of the most-visited landmarks in Poland. You'll explore the subterranean salt-carved chapels and galleries with striking statues, chandeliers, and altars.
Wieliczka Salt Mine Day Trip
At the designated time, we'll board a comfortable air-conditioned minibus. You'll admire the rural Polish landscapes during this short ride to Wieliczka, located only 9.32 miles (15 kilometers) from Krakow.
Once you get to this UNESCO World Heritage site, you'll follow your knowledgeable guide down 350 steps into one of the oldest salt mines in Europe. During this 2.1-mile (3.5-kilometer) walking tour, you'll discover over 20 salt-chiseled rooms, some of which are beautifully decorated, as well as underground lakes, the tools and utensils used by the miners, and curious salt-made sculptures and low reliefs.
The guide will explain the history of this salt mine and how it was transformed into a charming "underground village." Then, we'll return to the surface of the salt mine by climbing on the original elevator used by miners. You'll also have the chance to purchase unique souvenirs made from salt rock!
