Jewish Quarter & Schindler's Factory Tour
Tour Details
Looking for the best way to explore Krakow’s rich Jewish heritage? This guided tour takes you on an unforgettable journey through the heart of the city’s Jewish history, from the historic streets of Kazimierz to the powerful exhibits of Schindler’s Factory.
At the appointed time, we’ll meet at 24 Szeroka Street, right next to the Old Synagogue, and set off on a captivating walking tour. Our first stop will be Szeroka Street itself, a lively avenue lined with remarkable examples of Jewish architecture. Did you know this area was one of the hardest hit during World War II?
As we stroll through Kazimierz, we’ll stop in front of several of its most iconic synagogues, including the Old Synagogue, the Remuh Synagogue, the Kupa Synagogue, and the Tempel Synagogue. Today, Kazimierz boasts art galleries, kosher restaurants, and klezmer music concerts that keep the neighborhood’s cultural legacy alive.
Our route continues through the New Square and past the Basilica of Corpus Christi, one of Krakow's largest and most beautiful churches. From here, we’ll cross the iconic Bernatek Bridge and enter Podgórze, the site of the former Jewish ghetto.
Created by the German regime in 1941, the ghetto was a place of unimaginable suffering, marked by disease, deprivation of rights, and the forced displacement of the Jewish community. We’ll walk through the haunting Bohaterów Square, where Jewish residents were gathered and selected for deportation to concentration camps.
Our final destination is one of the most poignant stops on the tour: the Oskar Schindler Factory. This museum preserves the legacy of the German businessman who saved hundreds of Jewish lives during the Holocaust.
As we explore its immersive exhibits, you’ll walk through rooms that recreate Krakow under Nazi occupation. From Schindler’s original office to secretarial rooms and exhibitions showcasing objects from the era, every detail tells a powerful story. The sounds, images, and authentic artifacts bring the past vividly to life, offering an emotional and unforgettable experience.
After 3.5 hours of discovery, reflection, and insight, our tour concludes outside the Schindler Factory.
