You'll be picked up from your hotel in Kolkata at 9 am. The first stop will be at the beautiful Paresnath Jain Temple. We'll be amazed by every detail of its decoration and learn about the origin of Jain devotion. Inside the shrine, we'll also see the carving of Shitalnathji, whose forehead is studded with... diamonds!
The tour continues with a visit to the Victoria Memorial. This colossal monument, dedicated to Victoria I of England, is one of the main vestiges of British heritage. Inside this white marble building is a museum where we'll see a large collection of paintings, engravings and art objects.
From here we'll go to one of Kolkata's most famous bridges, the Howrah Bridge, nearby is Dalhousie Square. We'll see the exterior of the General Post Office, St. John's Church and the Raj Bhawan, the Governor's Mansion.
The last stop will be Maidan Park, where we'll learn about the history of the ancient stronghold of Fort William, located on the banks of the Hugli River. It was originally used to defend British interests in this part of India.
Finally, at 3 pm we'll return to your hotel in Kolkata.
