Koh Samui Island Tour
Koh Samui Island Tour
After being picked up from your hotel in Koh Samui at the scheduled time, you'll head on your way to the first stop on your guided tour of the Thai island. Wat Phra Yai, or The Big Buddha Temple as it is known in English, is a gold-painted statue of Buddha that towers almost 40 feet (12 m) over visitors on the small islet of Koh Fan, just off the northeast coast of Koh Samui. Climb up the 73 steps to see the majestic figure up close!
Continuing on your route of the religious and cultural heritage of southern Thailand, you'll be taken to Wat Laem Suwannaram, a temple complex built upon a lake and one of the island's most iconic Buddhist sites. Arriving at the sanctuary, you'll be enchanted by its magnificent sculptures, especially the immense statue of Guanyin, the 18-armed goddess of compassion and mercy. Take in the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful place.
Embrace nature on your next stop at the Samui Viewpoint in the heart of the island. From this vantage point, you'll have incomparable panoramic views over Koh Samui's white sand beaches and the crystalline waters surrounding you. Heading down to the coast, you'll pass by the famous Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, two geological formations in interesting shapes.
You'll then visit another unusual sight: the Mummified Monk. It may seem morbid, but the locals see it as a representation of death being an opportunity for rebirth. On that happy note, you'll be taken to the last stop on your guided tour of the island: the spectacular Na Muang waterfalls deep in the jungle. You'll hear them before you see them: the water cascades over the rocks from a height of 130 feet (40 m).
Your guided tour of Koh Samui will then come to an end, dropping you back off at your hotel.
