Kobe Walking Tour
Accompanied by an exclusive English-speaking guide, our first stop in Japan's seventh-largest city will be the Ikuta Shrine. Established over 1800 years ago, this ancient Shinto shrine is dedicated to the goddess of marriage, family, and harmony. You'll be blown away by its historical significance and the peaceful atmosphere in the surrounding gardens.
We'll then head over to the Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park, which commemorates the victims of the devastating Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995. As we wander around this wharf with views of Osaka Bay, you'll be able to see informative panels, photographs, and earthquake-related artefacts to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of this significant event.
Looking for some stunning views of Kobe? You're in luck! Our next stop will be Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens & Ropeway, on the slopes of Mount Rokko and one of the largest herb gardens in Japan. Surrounded by the wonderful smells of the garden's over 75,000 herbs and flowers, you'll also get to take postcard-pretty photos of Kobe, the sea, and surrounding mountains. What a treat!
After taking in the impressive scenery, we'll make our way to Kobe Kitano Ijinkan-Gai, a neighbourhood famous for its Western-style houses. Depending on the chosen length of your tour, we'll either say our goodbyes here or continue on to another spot according to your particular interests.
