Port Royal Tour
Description
At the indicated time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Kingston to begin an exciting tour of one of the most famous sights in the Jamaican capital.
After about 30 minutes on the minibus, we’ll reach Port Royal which, originally founded by the Spanish, was once the biggest city in the Caribbean, until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1692. During the height of its splendor, under British rule, a Royal Navy base was located here. We'll learn all about its secrets!
It is more well-known for being a stronghold for pirates. Its strategic location, between the maritime lines linking Spain and Panama, made it a very attractive place for looting. You’ll discover more stories about the notorious pirates as we stroll through what is left of the city.
We'll visit the fort of Port Royal, whose origins date back to the 17th century, and see its numerous cannons. We'll also visit the small museum at Fort Charles to learn more about the past of this area.
Who would like to try some seafood? We'll take you to Gloria's restaurant for a delicious meal (not included), where your table will be reserved!
After refuelling, we'll take you back to your hotel after a four-hour tour.
