Pearl Harbor & Honolulu Plane Excursion
We'll meet at Lihue Airport on Kauai at the appointed time and board a plane to Oahu, where we'll visit Pearl Harbor and Honolulu. Ready to learn about one of the most infamous military offensives in history?
When we land on the island of Oahu, we'll head to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center to discover what happened on December 7, 1941 and why this event was so decisive for the course of World War II.
Throughout the tour, we'll see different documentaries with images from this period and informative panels with historical data of great relevance. You'll also be able to visit the USS Arizona Memorial, built on the wreckage of the sunken ship in honor of the victims of this event.
Next, we head to the USS Missouri, the fourth ship named in honor of the U.S. state of Missouri and the last battleship built by the U.S. Navy.
After four hours of reviewing the history of Pearl Harbor, we'll board a minibus for a tour of historic Honolulu. There you'll have time to grab some lunch on your own and then we'll check out the main sights of Hawaii's capital city, including Kawaiahaʻo Church, the King Kamehameha Statue, and Iolani Palace.
We'll also pass by the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in the Punchbowl Crater, a space that pays tribute to the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Finally, we'll return to the Honolulu airport to board the plane back to Kauai, where we'll arrive after about 13 hours of sightseeing.
