Don't miss out on seeing rhinos during your trip to Uganda. On this excursion from Kampala, we'll take a walking tour of the spectacular Ziwa rhino sanctuary.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kampala at 7 am and drive north towards Murchison Falls National Park, where the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is located.
After approximately three hours of driving, we'll reach our destination and set out on a walking tour in search of these beautiful endangered animals. Rhinos became completely extinct in this country in the year 1983, after the Ugandan civil war. However, ten years later, the Wildlife Authority was created, with the aim of protecting wildlife and helping it thrive.
As a result, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary was opened and it was not until 2009 that the first rhino was born. During our walk, try to spot some of the 30 rhinos that live in the area, as we learn plenty of fun facts about this fascinating species.
After our walking tour of the sanctuary, we'll leave you some free time to rest and give you the option to participate in other activities if you wish, such as a Nile River boat ride.
Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel in Kampala, where the tour will come to an end at 4 pm.
