Day Trip to the Source of the Nile River
Day Trip to the Source of the Nile River
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kampala at 7:30 am and drive away from the capital of Uganda to see some of the greatest natural wonders of the area. Waterfalls, forests full of history, and the source of the River Nile await us.
First, we'll visit the Ssezibwa waterfall, a true spectacle of Ugandan nature nestled among the rocks. In addition to contemplating the waterfall, we'll discover the legend that surrounds it. Did you know that it's believed to possess healing powers?
Next, we'll travel to the Mabira Forest, where we'll take a relaxing walk through this forest reserve to learn about the many endangered species that live here. As we walk, we'll tell you exciting tales about the explorers who came to Uganda in search of the source of the River Nile.
Towards the middle of the day, we'll arrive in Jinja, where we'll refresh and recharge with a delicious traditional-style meal. With our appetites satiated and immersed in legends of jungle expeditions, we'll head to the source of the River Nile. We'll take a boat ride upstream in search of the place so many explorers longed to discover, up until the Englishman John Speke first reached the point where the Nile is born, the beautiful Lake Victoria.
After experiencing all that this fascinating place has to offer, we'll return to your hotel in Kampala and end the tour at 2:30 pm.
