One of the most ancestral tribes of America and incredible landscapes star in this excursion to the islands of the Uros and Taquile. We'll travel from Juliaca, enjoy a boat ride and learn about the history of the people who live in Lake Titicaca.

Uros & Taquile Islands Tour

At 6 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and head by minibus to Puno.

After an hour's drive, we'll approach the shores of Lake Titicaca and board a boat that will take us to the islands of the Uros, protected as cultural heritage of Peru. Did you know that this floating archipelago is actually artificial

We'll spend an hour and a half visiting these islands built with aquatic plants by the Uros. We'll meet the local population, descendants of one of the oldest ethnic groups in Latin America, and discover their traditions and beliefs.

Afterwards, we'll set course for the island of Taquile. We'll breathe the peace and tranquility of this land for an hour and a half walking along its trails and admiring its hills, full of terraces for crops. In addition, we'll learn all about the textile art of this place, declared 'Intangible Heritage of Humanity' by Unesco

Hungry? We'll replenish our strength with a lunch in Taquile consisting of a starter, a main course and a soft drink. Once your appetite is satisfied, we'll return to the boat.

We'll finish the excursion at 3:30 pm leaving you at your hotel in Juliaca.

2-Day Tour

If you want to dedicate more time to visit these places, this 2-day tour is ideal for you. In this case, we'll spend the first day exploring the Uros Islands, have lunch here and learn how to fish with the local people. In addition, you'll have the afternoon free and sleep in a traditional hut with dinner included.

On the second day, after breakfast at 7:30 am, we'll head to the island of Taquile. We'll visit its market, learn about the customs of its people and, after lunch, we'll return to Juliaca, arriving at 3:50 pm.

Tour ending in Puno

Would you like to finish the excursion in Puno? If you prefer, instead of taking you back to Juliaca, we can finish the tour in Puno. We'll drop you off at any central location or hotel of your choice.
