Uros Islands Tour
Uros Islands Tour
At the time of your choice we'll pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Juliaca and we'll go by minibus to Puno, where we'll board a speedboat that will take us across Lake Titicaca. We'll visit the floating village of the Uros!
We'll spend approximately two hours visiting this very special place, disembarking on two of the Uros islands. We'll explain how these artificial islands have been built with totora reeds, an aquatic plant similar to the reed that grows in Lake Titicaca.
We'll learn about the traditions and beliefs of the Uros while we see how they carry out their daily tasks, such as fishing. Did you know that this ethnic group is descended from one of the most ancient cultures of the entire American continent? We'll tell you all about it!
After six and a half hours of excursion, we'll say goodbye and leave you at your hotel.
Uros Islands 2 Day Tour
If you want to spend more time on the Uros Islands, this 2-day tour from Juliaca is ideal for you. You'll enjoy a night's accommodation in a traditional hut on one of the islands of this floating archipelago, a real immersion in the culture of Lake Titicaca!
During the first day, in addition to a tour of the Uros islands, you'll learn how to fish with the locals and you'll have lunch and a two-course dinner with a soft drink included. In addition, this option gives you the chance to enjoy a magical sunset over Lake Titicaca.
On the second day, after tea or coffee and fruit, we'll take you back to Juliaca. Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel at 1:30 pm.
Timetable
The timetable for the excursions is as follows:
- 1-day excursion: departures at 7 am and 10 am
- 2-day excursion: departures at 7 am
Tour ending in Puno
Would you like to finish the tour in Puno? If you prefer, instead of taking you back to Juliaca, we can finish the tour in Puno. We'll drop you off at any central location or hotel of your choice.
