Vatnajökull Glacier Tour

At the indicated time,we'll meet at Lake Jökulsárlón, located in the south of Iceland. From this point, we'll hop into an off-roading Jeep to Breiðamerkurjökull, one of the main entrances to the Vatnajökull glacier. We'll enter the glacier to start the trekking route, which will run for a stretch of 2 kilometres (1.2 miles). This hike will depend on the weather conditions, the season and the size of the group.

We'll walk under the natural ice arch that has been formed by the glacial river. Once inside the cave, we'll touch the crystalline blue ice on the walls of the cave, a natural work of art! We'll be inside the cave for 45 minutes.

After this unforgettable immersive experience in the cave, we'll return to the same entrance through which we entered the cave. From this point, we'll return in the off-roading vehicle to the meeting point, where we'll conclude this activity after a total of 2 hours.

RESUMEN ACTIVIDAD: Aparcas el coche en el parking de la ubicacion (1000 ISK adicionales). Puedes hacerte fotos en minis icebergs que estan donde el parking. A continuación os subireis a un coche al estilo monstertruck que hara un recorrido de una media hora. Os dan los camprons (para andar por encima del hielo). La ruta andando ida y vuelta es 1:20h aprox. Dentro de la cueva estareis 15-20 minutos. El grupo es reducido a 12 personas. MERECE LA PENA Translate this opinion into English.

La excursión fue espectacular, caminar por el glaciar y el interior de la cueva, con esos colores, fue mucho mejor de lo que esperábamos. El día estaba cerrado de niebla y llovía pero aun así fue increible. Pero lo mejor sin duda fue el guía, Oli el Vikingo, muy majo, nos contó como se formaban los glaciares, la cueva...y lo mejor de todo es que por un despiste nos quedamos encayados con nuestro coche y no dudo en ningún momento en echarnos una mano y sacarnos del problema. The excursion was spectacular, walking through the glacier and inside the cave, with those colors, was much better than we expected. The day was closed with fog and it was raining but it was still incredible. But the best thing was undoubtedly the guide, Oli the Viking, very nice, he told us how the glaciers were formed, the cave... and the best of all is that due to an oversight we got stuck with our car and I don't doubt in any time to lend us a hand and get us out of trouble.
