Tour the Jacaranda City and discover the Union Buildings Gardens, the world's largest sculpture of Nelson Mandela and much more on this Pretoria Day Trip.
Pretoria Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotels at 9:30 am we'll head to Pretoria, did you know that it's also known as the Jacaranda City because of the large number of Jacaranda trees in its parks?
Our first stop will be the Voortrekker monument, a South African National Heritage Site. Here you'll find out about the history of the Afrikaner, the Great Trek and the Battle of Blood River.
Afterwards, you'll have 30 minutes of free time for lunch. Next, we'll arrive at Church Square in the heart of Pretoria. There, we'll see some emblematic buildings such as the Palace of Justice and the Raadsaal which, for years, was the seat of the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa.
Following on we'll head to Union Buildings, the seat of the current government. Here you'll find the world's largest sculpture of Nelson Mandela, 9 metres high!
The tour will also take us to Paul Kruger House Museum, where you'll learn about the conflicts that took place in this region at the end of the 19th century. You'll also have the chance to visit Melrose House.
