Description
Day 1: Johannesburg – Hazyview
Welcome to South Africa! At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from O. R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg airport) or a hotel within a 5-kilometre (3-mile) radius of the terminal. From here, we'll head northwest.
After a 4-hour journey, we'll arrive at a comfortable lodge in Hazyview, where, after having a light lunch, you can relax until the evening. When the sun is about to set, we'll pick you up and go north, where we'll see a romantic sunset in Kruger National Park. You'll remember this magical sunset over the African Savanna forever!
Then, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and rest for the rest of the evening.
Day 2: Hazyview – Kruger National Park– Hazyview
We'll wake up before the sun rises and start exploring the most visited natural reserve in South Africa. Firstly, we'll enjoy an unforgettable sunrise safari in Kruger National Park. Dawn is the best time of the day to spot the African Big Five: lions, leopards, rhinoceros, buffalos and elephants.
After a 3-hour safari, we'll take a break to relax and enjoy a traditional picnic breakfast we prepared earlier. Once we've finished up here, we'll continue the safari and admire the countryside in Kruger. We'll see beautiful rivers and savanna planes.
Then, we'll stop at a campsite in Kruger where you can go to the bathroom and have lunch at your own expense. Finally, we'll return to the lodge in Hazyview. You'll have the rest of the afternoon free at the accommodation to make the most of sunbathing and swimming in the pool. Additionally, you'll have dinner included –the perfect end to an exciting day.
Day 3: Hazyview – Kruger National Park - Hazyview - Johannesburg
On the third day, we'll follow the same morning routine as the day before. We'll wake up before sunrise and travel into Kruger National Park, where we'll enjoy a sunrise safari once more, trying to spot the animals we didn't see the day before.
After the safari and another traditional picnic breakfast, we'll return to the lodge at Hazyview, where we'll arrive around midday. Once here, we'll collect our luggage and take you to the airport in Johannesburg. We'll arrive here between 5-6 pm. Safe flight!
Accommodation
This safari includes 2 nights of accommodation with breakfast in a 3-star lodge in Hazyview. We'll stay at Umbhaba Eco Lodge or one similar.
Please bear in mind that the indicated prices are per person in a double room.
Schedules for Flights and Transfers
When booking your outbound flight to South Africa, please note that pickup is from the O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, specifically at the Shuttle and Bus Terminal in the arrival area between 6:45 am and 7 am, with final departure to Hazyview at 7:15 am.
Therefore, your arrival flight to South Africa cannot be later than 5 am. To avoid unforeseen delays or problems, we recommend that you stay at a hotel in Johannesburg the day before the safari. You must arrange this accommodation yourself.
So, on the day of the safari, we can also pick you up between 6:30 am and 6:45 am from hotels within a 5-kilometre (3-mile) radius of the airport in Johannesburg.
Similarly, on the final day of the safari, we'll return to Johannesburg between 5-6 pm. Upon arrival in the city, we can drop you off at the airport or a hotel within a 5-kilometre (3-mile) radius of the terminal. Thus, if you're flying from the O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on the last day of the safari, don't book a national flight that departs before 8 pm or an international flight that departs before 9 pm.
