Are you ready for a day filled with adventure? In that case, before the sun rises, we'll pick you up at your hotel in João Pessoa and we'll begin our journey towards the Pedra da Boca State Park. Let's go!
After a 3-hour drive, we'll pass through the Curimataú Oriental microregion and reach the beautiful landscapes between the Serra da Confusão and Serra de Araruna. Here, we'll glimpse the massive rock formations in the valley. An impressive landscape that will leave you in awe!
We'll fasten our walking shoes and begin a hike towards the first main rock formation, the Pedra da Boca. While we explain the prehistoric details of this natural enclave, we'll admire the immense granite rock with rounded shapes and grooves that run from the top to the ground. Our challenge will be to reach the rock's 300 metres (984 feet) altitude and make it to the La Boca area. It'll be a steep climb, and during certain moments, we'll make use of the rope available along the trail.
Once we arrive, if you wish, you can swing on the human pendulum. For this activity, you'll be launched on a 30-metre (98-foot) rope that can hold over 3500 kilos (551 stone) of weight. So fun! You can also try out some abseiling, or simply enjoy the views and rest before our return journey.
Afterwards, we'll descend the Pedra da Boca to visit Seu Tico, a restaurant owned by a mountaineering enthusiast in the Paraíba region. Here, you can grab a tasty lunch if you wish. After eating, we'll begin our walk back down to Pedra da Caveira. Ready to continue our hike?
We'll follow a 1-kilometre (0.62-mile) trail and at the summit, we'll get to know the so-called "taffoni", a fascinating round formation that makes the rock look like a skull. From here, we'll have incredible views of the whole park and the sunset. Unforgettable!
Lastly, we'll begin our journey back, saying our goodbyes at your hotel after a total of 16 hours.
