Orthodox Jewish Cultural Tour
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll begin this tour of Orthodox Jewish culture around Jerusalem in Davidka Square, in front of the Abraham Jerusalem Hostel.
What do the curls of the Orthodox Jews represent? Why do they always wear a characteristic black attire? We'll learn the answers to these questions while we tour the main points of interest in Jerusalem that are frequented by members of this important Jewish religious community.
To begin, we'll make our way towards the Mahane Yehuda Market to learn about which foods are most eaten by Orthodox Jews. This community also frequents a series of establishments and shops that specialise in the needs of their beliefs. We'll discover such shops as we visit the Zichron Moshe neighbourhood.
Continuing on our tour, we'll visit the district of Mea She'arim, a neighbourhood in north Jerusalem where the Ultraorthodox Jews live. After uncovering their main social and religious cultural customs, beliefs and rites, we'll head to the Ge'ula neighbourhood to continue understanding the way of life of this religious community.
Finally, after a 2.5-hour tour, the activity will finish up in the vicinity of where we left off.
