With this ticket to the Domecq Palace, you'll discover one of the finest examples of 18th-century Jerez Baroque architecture with an audio guide included!
Description
Located in Plaza Aladro square, right in the thick of the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera, the iconic Domecq Palace is a jewel of 18th-century baroque architecture.
Your ticket to the Domecq Palace includes an English audioguide, which is filled with fascinating information about the palace's various rooms. The history of this unique building dates back to 1775, when Antonio Cabezas de Aranda y Guzmán, the first Marquis of Montana, ordered the construction of a palace in the Jerez plain of San Sebastián. The works would last until 1778.
The audio guide will walk you through how the palace has evolved since its construction. In 1855, the palace became the home of the Domecq family, one of the main winemaking families not only of Jerez but of Spain - having a tremendous impact on the wine tradition of the country.
During the tour, you'll have the chance to see such spaces as the collonaded courtyard, the board room, the dining room, the library, the ballroom, the fireplace hall, and the office of the Marquis of Domecq.
After 45 minutes, this tour will conclude at the main entrance of the palace.
