Xabia is one of the most beautiful towns on the Costa Blanca, but it also has a hidden past... At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Tourist Office and begin this free tour of the mysteries and legends of Xabia. Will it change your idyllic image of the Alicante town?
We'll begin our tour by exploring the enigmatic history of Church Square, which is adorned with symbols that harken to a dark past. We'll learn about Xabia's extensive network of underground tunnels as well as the town's unfortunate connection to Napolean.
Throughout the tour, we'll discover the most curious details of the buildings in the old town of Xabia, revealing some of the most mystifying stories, such as that of Úrsula Tachó ("La Criminala"), a figure who still sends shivers down the spines of locals.
We'll also see the curious Caras del Agua, faces positioned on 19th-century iron downpipes on the streets of the historic centre, keeping a watchful eye on passers-by!
