Port of Xàbia Free Tour
Description
At the agreed-upon time, we'll meet at Xàbia Posit to begin our journey which will encompass visits to the iconic highlights of Xàbia and its port.
We'll begin by visiting the Xàbia Yacht Club, where we'll explore the history of the Xàbia port and its crucial role in the export of raisins as an economic staple in the 20th century. We'll also discuss various local wines and the concept of the "Riu Rau."
Next, we'll make a brief stop at the Fishermen's Guild to analyze the distinctive fishing method in Xàbia, renowned for its unique techniques and the intrigue surrounding its perilous nature.
Then, we'll pass by the Our Lady of Loreto Parish, immersing ourselves in the avant-garde architecture of the 20th century before moving on to the Joaquín Sorolla Sculpture, delving into Joaquín Sorolla's relationship with Xàbia, his contribution to Impressionism, and the mystery surrounding his subsequent absence from the city.
Our next destination will be the Casa del Cable, a place to reflect on the importance of this site in the 19th century, where the first cable connecting the Balearic Islands to the Peninsula was constructed. Then, we'll head over to Triana Bridge, where we'll explore the origin of this neighborhood's name, also known as "Aduanas del Mar."
Finally, we'll head over to Platja del Primer Muntanyar, where we'll enjoy one of the best spots to watch sunsets in Xàbia. We'll take the opportunity to discuss iconic places such as Cabo de la Nau, Baños de la Reina, and the First Montañar. Finally, after an hour and a half, our tour will come to an end.
