Explore an unspoilt paradise nestled in Jamao al Norte with our Las Caobas River Trekking activity. You'll swim, walk and wade through lush landscapes during this exhilarating experience.
Las Caobas River Trekking
After picking you up from Calle Sánchez or from your hotel in Jamao al Norte, we'll set off for Las Caobas to explore a trail dotted with crystal clear water pools, gorges and waterfalls. Once we've arrived, we'll get our equipment on and kick off our adrenaline-filled adventure.
We'll walk through areas full of leafy trees, as well as wading through water that reaches our waists. If you'd like, you can also jump into the water from the rocks we pass through.
At 10:30 am, we'll take a short break to have a snack of cheese and Dominican rodao (a type of biscuit). Afterwards, we'll continue river trekking through a forest filled with guama beans and ceiba and mahogany trees, which are endemic to intertropical areas such as the Dominican Republic.
When the clock strikes 12 noon, it'll be time to stop for a traditional lunch consisting of beans, rice, chicken, salad and drinks. After lunch, we'll learn about local craftmanship in a nearby village.
Finally, we'll take you back at the starting point in Jamao al Norte, where we'll arrive at around 1:30 pm.
