This free walking tour of Jaisalmer is no doubt the best way to get to know the so-called Golden City. Each of its corners will leave you spellbound forever!
Itinerary
At the appointed time we'll start our free tour of Jaisalmer at the entrance of Jaisalmer Fort, one of the few living fortresses in the world.
From here, we'll begin to recount the history of each of the places we visit, where the mixture of cultures has been forming over the years many legends and stories that will leave you speechless!
Your walking tour will take you to the Jaisalmer Museum and Cultural Centre before heading to Salim Singh Ki Haweli, an old stately home whose yellow sandstone tones are the perfect reflection of the surrounding desert, like much of the other architecture in the Golden City.
You'll discover more landmarks that have important historical value, including Patwon Ki Haveli, Nathmal Ki Haveli, Badal Mahal and the Tazia Tower. While each architectural gem shares the same golden hue as the rest of the city, you'll be able to appreciate the huge variety in the intricate sculptures that decorate them.
After 3 hours of sightseeing, our last stop will be, of course, at Gadisar Lake, one of the most photographed places in the city.
Groups
This free tour doesn't admit groups of more than 6 people, even if they book the activity separately.. If you're a larger group, check out our private tour of Jaisalmer.
