Beylerbeyi Palace & Eyup District Tour
After your guide collects you from your chosen meeting point, you’ll cross the Bosphorus Bridge to get to the Asian side of the city. This suspension bridge was finished in 1988 and is over one kilometre long.
Once you get to the Asian side, you'll visit the Beylerbeyi Palace. This striking white marble building was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz in the 19th century as a summer residence.
The palace has 3 main entrances, 6 large halls, 24 rooms, all incredibly decorated, and a beautiful garden full of magnolias. Inside, the palace is embellished with Egyptian floor mats, crystal chandeliers from Bohemia, French clocks and beautiful china.
From here, we'll visit the Üsküdar district. We'll take a stroll in this colourful Bosphorus riverside district before we start our way back to the western part of Istanbul. Next stop? The Basilica Cistern of Yerebatan, the most important water reservoir of the city from Byzantine times.
We'll then go to a traditional restaurant where we'll eat a meal consisting of soup or cold appetizer, börek, chicken, meat or vegetable kebab with rice, and baklava or fruit. If you select the tour option without lunch, you'll have an hour of free time to grab a bite to eat from a local café.
On a full stomach, you'll head to the Eyup district, a holy site for Muslims after Mecca. It's home to numerous landmarks including the impressive Eyup Sultan Mosque and the Café Pierre Loti.
The last stop of the tour is at one of the city’s most famous coffee houses. Café Pierre Loti is situated at the top of Pierre Loti Hill with beautiful views of the Golden Horn.
The tour will end in the centre of Sultanahmet or the Taksim neighbourhood, whichever you prefer.
