Free Walking Tour of Tabarca Island
Free Walking Tour of Tabarca Island
At the indicated time, depending on when the ferry from Alicante arrives, we'll set off from the port on our free walking tour of Tabarca Island.
To begin, we'll visit the citadel of Tabarca. This walled settlement, which was perfectly adapted to the contour of a large part of the island, was built to protect this Mediterranean island from the invasions of pirates and corsairs. Next, we'll visit the Church of St Peter and St Paul, which dates back to the 18th century.
Our tour will then take us to some of the island's other iconic spots, such as the Governor's Hosue and the gates of San Gabriel, San Miguel and San Rafael. We'll also visit the main square of Tabarca and pause in front of the Cova del Llop Marí, where we'll learn about the legend related to this sea cave.
We'll continue walking around Tabarca Island and learning more about its history, culture and legends as we see its sights. In addition, we'll discuss the island's gastronomy and recommend some spots where you can go swimming and snorkelling.
The free walking tour will come to an end after an hour and a half on the main beach of Tabarca Island.
