Marañón River & Pacaya Samiria 4-Day Cruise
Marañón River & Pacaya Samiria 4-Day Cruise
Day 1: Iquitos - Nauta - Pacaya Samiria & Nauta Caño
Once we've picked you up from Iquitos Airport or your hotel, we'll take you to the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. You'll attend a welcome talk here about our cruise on the Marañon River and in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
Afterwards, we'll take you to the port of Nauta so you can board the cruiser. Our afternoon will be jam-packed with fun activities, starting with a boat trip through the biodiverse Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. We'll then have dinner and head out on a nighttime excursion through the Nauta Caño area.
Day 2: Yanayacu de Pucate - San Regis
Our second day will begin with a picnic on the Yanayacu River in Pucate, which is in the heart of Pacaya Samiria. Here, we'll be able to see the friendly pink dolphins and take a kayak tour through one of the most beautiful aquatic ecosystems in Peru.
Next, we'll head to the community of San Regis, where we'll attend a tree-planting ceremony led by the shaman. Later on, we'll return to the boat to have dinner while enjoying some live music.
Day 3: Shiriyacu – Puerto Prado - Kukama
Rise and shine! We'll set off in our boat for the Shiriyacu stream, the perfect place to learn traditional piranha fishing techniques.
In the afternoon, we'll have lunch and unwind with a walk through the Amazon Rainforest. Once we're in the depths of the jungle, we'll meet the Kukuma Indigenous People and learn about their customs and traditions. We'll then return to the cruise ship and admire a beautiful sunset. Once we're on the boat, we'll see a cooking demonstration before dinner.
Day 4: Nauta - Amazon Rescue Centre - Iquitos
On our last day, we'll have breakfast as the cruise ship docks at the port of Nauta. We'll disembark here and visit the Amazon Rescue Centre. Here, we'll learn all about the admirable work of the experts and volunteers who care for animals saved from the black market, such as manatees.
Afterwards, we'll take you to Iquitos Airport.
