4 Day Amazon River Cruise
4 Day Amazon River Cruise
Day 1
We'll pick you up from your hotel and head straight to the Bellavista port, where a boat will be waiting to take us to our jungle lodge. On the way, we'll make a stop at the meeting point of the Amazon and Nanay rivers, where we'll discover the local wildlife that inhabits the waters. Keep your eyes peeled for piranhas!
In the afternoon, we'll take a small boat to a town where the AQL Timicurillo lives. Here, we'll learn about its customs and activities.
In the evening, we'll return to the lodge for dinner, and you'll have the choice to go out on a night walk to discover the jungle in a new way.
Day 2
Our day will begin with a visit to Neyser Island to see its famous snake sanctuary. As well as getting up close to the reptiles housed here, we'll also get to admire animals like anteaters, sloths, monkeys and turtles.
Afterwards, we'll take a small boat to the San Juan de Huashalado farm to visit the ¨El Encanto de Rony¨ rescue centre. Here, we'll see anaconda, blue parrots, red parrots and other animals.
We'll continue the visit by having aphrodisiac drinks such as Rompe Calzón, 7 Raíces, Levántate Lázaro, Espérame en el suelo and many more. You'll also try some medicinal drinks such as Camú Camú, ginger, Sangre de Grado, copaiba oil and other oils, such as lizard or boa for people with bone problems.
After lunch, we'll sail in boats or canoes to fish in the Amazon River and watch the sunset. Finally, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and to hear some of the mythical tales and legends of the Amazon.
Day 3
After an energising breakfast, we'll take a canoe tour down the River Yanayacu. It's a river with a huge variety of birds, monkeys, giant trees and all kinds of nature. It's also an area rich in fish and in particular, grey and pink dolphins.
We'll enjoy an open-air lunch, at a farmer's house or onboard the boat. On the return, we'll admire a beautiful Amazonian sunset and, finally, we'll return to the accommodation for dinner and to relax.
Day 4
On the final day of our excursion, we'll wake up early for a short night walk around the jungle to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises ever. Then, we'll return to the accommodation to have a filling breakfast and continue with the other activities.
Throughout the day, we'll visit a local community, where we'll learn traditional dances and learn about its handicrafts. You'll take away a fabulous souvenir. Additionally, in the afternoon, we'll visit a local indigenous community to find out about their traditional medicinal techniques.
Finally, after a rich lunch, we'll make the return journey to Iquitos which will take 2.5 hours. We'll take you back to your hotel or a chosen central location.

Due to the current drought, we cannot reach the lodge by boat. In order to reach the lodge and leave, we'll have to walk for about 30 minutes. Normally, droughts last until November.
