Amazon & Ucayali 7-Day Cruise

The following itinerary is the route we'll follow if you join us on our 7-day cruise from December to May.

Day 1: Iquitos - Nauta

We'll pick you up from Iquitos airport and take you to the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel for lunch and a briefing on the itinerary of our 7-day Amazon cruise.

Next, we'll accompany you to the port of Nauta where our ship awaits. You'll be able to spend the evening settling in until dinner. Afterwards, we'll go on our first night excursion by boat on the Amazon River.

Day 2: Yanayacu de Yacapana - Vista Alegre - Ucayali River

Before breakfast, we'll take a boat ride through the Yanayacu de Yacapana reserve to spot some of the wildlife endemic to this area. We'll see macaws, sloths, iguanas and of course, the famous pink dolphins that live in this area.

Afterwards, we'll have something to eat and then visit the Vista Alegre butterfly farm. We'll then have lunch and go on a piranha fishing activity in the Ucayali River. Upon our return to the cruiser, a dinner accompanied by live music will be waiting for us.

Day 3: Arroyo Marayali - Pahuachiro

We'll also start this day with a boat trip on the Arroyo Marayali stream before having breakfast. Once we've had breakfast, we'll stroll through Pahuachiro. This area is home to lots of different plant and animal species

As the sun sets on the horizon, we'll return to the boat for dinner.

Day 4: Nauta

On the morning of our fourth day, you'll have breakfast and then travel to the city of Nauta by motorbike taxi. We'll take this popular means of transportation to the local market, where we'll see typical handicraft stalls, aphrodisiac drinks and traditional items that'll give us an insight into Amazonian culture.

Afterwards, we'll return to the boat for dinner and an evening boat ride.

Day 5: Marañon River - San Regis

Rise and shine! We'll get up at dawn to go and see pink dolphins. After we've had breakfast, you'll have some time to relax and swim in the Marañon River.

We'll have lunch and then visit the community of San Regis, where we'll walk across its hanging bridges and participate in a tree-planting ceremony led by a shaman.

Finally, we'll have dinner in San Regis and return to the cruise ship.

Day 6: Arroyo Shiriyacu - San José de Zarapanga - Kukama - Puerto Prado

The morning will be spent with an excursion to the Arroyo Shiriyacu stream, where we'll look for the best spot for traditional piranha fishing.

We'll have lunch in the village of San José de Zarapanga, and in the afternoon we'll visit the Kukama community to learn about their customs and traditions.

Afterwards, we'll return to the boat for a cooking demonstration. We'll then have dinner aboard the cruiser while touring Puerto Prado.

Day 7: Nauta - Amazon Rescue Centre - Iquitos

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? On our last day, we'll have breakfast as we pull into the port of Nauta. We'll disembark here and visit the Amazon Rescue Centre to see the manatees that are cared for by experts and volunteers.

It'll then be time to bring our 7-day adventure to an end and take you back to Iquitos Airport or your hotel.

June to November

From June to November the water level in the rivers and lagoons is lower. For this reason, the itinerary will have the following modifications during these months:

  • Days 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will be the same as in the December to May itinerary.
  • On day 2, we'll go on a boat trip on the Amazon River before having breakfast. After lunch, we'll go on a walk through the jungle in the Ucayali area. At night, we'll have dinner with live music.
  • The morning of day 3 will be spent visiting the community of Vista Alegre and its butterfly farm. We'll also see the spot where the Ucayali and Marañon Rivers meet and do some piranha fishing.
