Amazon River: 3 Day Tour
Tour Description
Day 1
On the first day of the tour, we'll meet at Napo number 326, in Iquitos at the indicated time and take you to Bellavista port, where we'll board a boat to begin our adventure on the Amazon River.
This first experience of sailing down the world's largest river will bring us to our accommodation, where we'll be welcomed with a delicious lunch. You'll then have free time to relax ready for the afternoon ahead.
After meeting back up, we'll embark on a walk into the rainforest to visit a local Timicurillo indigenous community. We'll get to chat to the people who live there and learn all about their culture and lifestyle in the jungle, before heading back to the lodge for dinner.
Day 2
Our day will begin with a hearty breakfast, and we'll then board a boat and cruise along the Amazon to Neyser Island, where we'll visit an animal sanctuary. There we'll learn about the wildlife native to the Amazon and see anacondas and other incredible creatures such as monkeys, sloths and toucans.
Afterwards, we'll take a small boat to the San Juan de Huashalado farm to visit the ¨El Encanto de Rony¨ rescue centre. Here, we'll see anaconda, blue parrots, red parrots and other animals.
We'll continue the visit by having aphrodisiac drinks such as Rompe Calzón, 7 Raíces, Levántate Lázaro, Espérame en el suelo and many more. You'll also try some medicinal drinks such as Camú Camú, ginger, Sangre de Grado, copaiba oil and other oils, such as lizard or boa for people with bone problems.
After lunch, we'll sail in boats or canoes to fish in the Amazon River and watch the sunset. Finally, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and to hear some of the mythical tales and legends of the Amazon.
Day 3
On the last day of your three day tour, you'll have the option to take part in a sunrise hike through the jungle. If you choose to do this highly recommended experience, the day will begin at 4:30 am - but the early start will be well worth as you watch day break over the Amazon.
After breakfast, we'll gather the whole group and take one last boat trip on the Amazon River to visit Sinchicuy, an indigenous community where we'll get to learn all about the locals' handicraft making traditions and learn how they fish with handmade rods. Then, we'll continue sailing around to search for dolphins in the river.
We'll then head back to the lodge for lunch, before making the journey back to Iquitos, where we'll arrive around 4 pm after three unforgettable days.
