Amazon Rainforest 5 Day Tour
Amazon Rainforest 5 Day Tour
Day 1
After picking you up from your hotel in Iquitos, we'll set off for our accommodation in the Amazon jungle by boat. During the cruise, we'll make a stop for a first experience of the incredible wildlife native to the Amazon. Keep your eyes peeled for piranhas, turtles and lizards! Afterward, we'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and take a few minutes to rest.
In the afternoon, we'll head out to visit the village of Timicurillo, where our lodge is located, and we'll discover how the locals live here and how they use plants in their traditional medicine. After eating dinner in the evening, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a night walk in the jungle... if you dare!
Day 2
We'll start the day with a visit to Neyser Island to explore its reptile sanctuary. Here, we'll have the opportunity to see enormous anacondas and other animals such as monkeys and sloths.
Following our city exploration, we'll embark on a brief sail to the hamlet of San Juan de Huashalado. Our destination? The rescue center "El Encanto de Rony." Get ready to encounter anacondas, mambas, and an array of boas. Plus, we'll have the chance to admire sloths, toucans, blue parrots, red parrots, and a host of other fascinating creatures.
After our wildlife encounter, our journey will continue with a unique twist as we indulge in aphrodisiac beverages like Rompe Calzón, 7 Raíces, Levántate Lázaro, Espérame en el Suelo, and a variety of others. Plus, for those interested in medicinal concoctions, we'll have options like Camú Camú, ginger, Sangre de Grado, copaiba oil, and an assortment of butter, including lizard or boa, perfect for addressing bone-related issues
After lunch, in the afternoon we'll sail off in boats or canoes to fish in the Amazon River and marvel at a beautiful sunset. Finally, we'll return to the lodge to enjoy a dinner enlivened with stories and legends of the Amazon.
Day 3
On day three, we'll begin with an adventure on the Yanayacu River. We'll set sail by boat to the town of San Juan de Huashalado, crossing over the "black waters" in a traditional canoe.
Immersed in this virgin paradise, we'll discover some of the native species of the Amazon and even have the opportunity to swim with the famous pink Amazon river dolphins if we're lucky! We'll then have lunch at the home of a local farmer.
Then, we'll enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the Amazon before returning to camp for a delicious dinner and a restful night.
Day 4
For the early risers and the adventurous souls among us, the fourth day holds an optional treat: a sunrise walk at 4 am to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Amazon. It promises to be a truly magical experience! Afterward, we'll head back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and reconvene with the rest of the group.
Once we're all back together, our journey will take us on a scenic boat ride along the Amazon River to the vibrant community of Sinchicuy. From there, we'll continue our river exploration to visit the indigenous Yagua tribe, where we'll have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in their culture before heading to the San Rafael community of the Peruvian Amazon. As part of our cultural and ecological exploration, we'll also visit the Morphohuasi butterfly farm.
Then, after dinner, for anyone who missed the sunrise walk in the morning, we'll offer an evening stroll through the area to end the day.
Day 5
On the last day of our five day Amazon tour, we'll sail down the river to Monkey Island where we'll get to meet these cheeky creatures. We'll also visit a fruit and medicine plantation.
Finally, we'll return to the lodge for a last lunch together in the jungle before we return to Iquitos, where we'll arrive around 4 pm.
Itinerary Changes
Due to the current drought, we cannot reach the lodge by boat. In order to reach the lodge and leave, we'll have to walk for about 30 minutes. Normally, droughts last until November.
