Amazon, Nanay & Momon Rivers Excursion
After picking you up at 9 am at your hotel in Iquitos, we'll head to the Amazon jungle, where a boat will be waiting to take us down the world's largest river. As we navigate through this wild paradise, we'll see the typical colorful flora of the rainforest. The warm temperatures and humidity have encouraged the proliferation of tall trees that are sure to leave you speechless.
On this journey, we'll visit an animal sanctuary that houses macaws, toucans, monkeys, snakes, and other reptiles of all kinds, such as the anaconda. You'll also be able to see some species that only inhabit this area of the world.
We'll continue our cruise reaching one of the three largest rivers in Peru: the Nanay. This river extends no less than 315 kilometers (196 miles) long and hosts the towns of Santo Tomás, Padre Cocha, and Santa Clara. The crossing will then continue to the Momon River.
We'll then stop at an Amazonian camp for a delicious buffet lunch, after which we'll take a short walk through the jungle to visit a community of Boras Indigenous Peoples. Here, we'll learn about their main customs and traditions and, those who wish will even have the chance to participate in their traditional dances.
Finally, we'll sail back to the departure dock and then return to your hotel in Iquitos, where we'll arrive at 5 pm.
