Pacaya Samiria 3 Day Tour
Pacaya Samiria 3 Day Tour
Day 1
After picking you up in Iquitos at 8 am, we'll board a bus that will take us to the idyllic town of Nauta. Once there, we'll travel again to the Marañon River, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon, running through Pacaya Samiria. There, a boat will be waiting to take us along the course of the river on a 3.5-hour trip. We'll be impressed by the deep canyons that the Marañon has been causing in its path.
Once the walk is over, we'll go to the camp, where the tents will be set up for the night. We then enjoy a rest in our accommodation before we begin our adventure in the Amazon jungle. We'll take a break to regain our strength while tasting a delicious typical Peruvian menu before exploring the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. The food we'll offer is adapted to all tastes, there is a vegetarian option, and also chicken, fish, vegetables, fruit, and much more.
We'll get into another boat again that will take us for a trip to the enormous Huaylla lake. Along the way, we'll see some of the wonderful wildlife that inhabits the reserve, such as herons, shanshos, camungos, and the amazing pink river dolphins. Our guide will show you many other surprises too.
Later, when night falls, we'll see scary tarantulas and hear the sounds of birds and other exotic nocturnal animals.
Once the busy day is over, we'll return to the camp and enjoy a well-deserved rest in the tent. There is still so much more to come!
Day 2
After having a full breakfast at the camp, we'll head back into the Pacaya Samira National Reserve to set up the camp where we'll later spend the night. This immersion in nature will introduce us to what species of flora and fauna grow in the jungle.
If we take a look at the sky, we can probably see birds flying over the forest. We'll be attracted by the wide range of colors of the feathers of these animals, as is the case of the yellow-crowned parrot.
We'll also encounter some amazing mammals that inhabit the Amazon rainforest, such as sloths and different types of monkeys. If we're lucky, we may even see some of these animals climbing the tall trees that crown this immense ecosystem.
Before concluding this day in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, we'll take a boat ride at night to see caimans, turtles, and fearsome anacondas in their natural habitat. Afterward, we return to the camp to spend our last night in the Amazon.
Day 3
The third and last day of the tour will be dedicated to the Indigenous fishing tradition. We'll enjoy a day hunting for fish such as piranhas.
After eating a full breakfast at the camp, we'll dive back into the jungle to once again admire the exotic birds and landscapes.
We'll return to the camp to satisfy our hunger with a delicious meal. With our strength fully recharged and after having rested, we'll get on a boat to Nauta, where we'll take a bus that will take us back to Iquitos.
