On this rafting tour on the Voidomatis River, we'll row down its waters and discover Ottoman bridges and waterfalls at Vikos-Aoos Natural Park - ready for an amazing adrenaline rush?
Rafting in Voidomatis River
At the scheduled time, we'll meet you at the rafting base located in Kleidonia, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Ioannina. Here, we'll be waiting for you with a bus that'll take us to the point where we'll start the rafting adventure.
Leaving from Zagorochoria, we'll board the rafts and take the paddles to start this rafting activity on the Voidomatis river, which runs for 7 kilometers (4.3 miles). Did you know that its name means Ox's Eye? This nickname derives from the blue color of the oxen's eyes, the same color as the waters of this river. During our trip, you'll marvel at the turquoise stretches of this river in the northwest of Greece.
Our tour will take us through the beautiful landscapes of the Vikos-Aoos National Park, where we'll find historical sites such as the monastery of St. Anargiroi, dating from the sixteenth century, or the Ottoman bridge of Politsa.
Also, we'll raft past waterfalls and dams, and you'll be able to challenge your sense of adventure by overcoming the natural obstacles on this two-and-a-half-hour rafting tour.
Lastly, after this time, we'll return to the starting point, ending the experience.
