Pico do Papagaio Sunrise Hike
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet next to the São Sebastião Church to begin our hiking route through the forest to Pico do Papagaio. Are you ready for a unique experience in the middle of nature on Ilha Grande?
During the hike, which will last around 6 hours, we'll be able to appreciate the flora and fauna of the region, which is very characteristic of the Atlantic Rainforest. Throughout the first 3 hours, we'll take a route that goes right up to the summit of Pico do Papagaio, the second-highest point on the island. Did you know that it sits 980 metres (3,215 ft.) above sea level?
In addition, we'll also make stops so that we can rest and drink some water. Little by little, we'll make our way to the summit, and begin to see that all efforts will have been worth it. Upon arriving, we'll enjoy the sun's morning rays, as they light up the landscape on Ilha Grande. You're going to love the views!
At the summit, you'll have an hour and a half of free time to enjoy the moment and take a tonne of photos. From here, you'll also be able to see the famous Pedra da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro.
With your camera and mind full of memories, we'll begin our descent back to the meeting point. There, we'll say our goodbyes and bring the tour to an end after 8 hours.
