If you're in Ilha Grande, don't miss the opportunity to take a tour around the Acaiá Cave and its main lagoons. You'll fall in love with its dreamy landscapes!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Vila do Abraão pier, where a boat will be waiting for us to sail to the southwest of Ilha Grande, specifically to the Alcaiá Cave. The stops along the way will last between 30 and 40 minutes. All aboard!

Our first stop is Lagoa Azul, a must for anyone visiting the region. Thousands of small fish can be seen in this lagoon of shallow and transparent waters. Did you know that the locals call it this way because of its similarity to Port Antonio, in Jamaica? This is where the famous film The Blue Lagoon was filmed. In this haven of peace, chosen as one of the 7 wonders of Ilha Grande, you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We'll continue the tour in the Acaiá Cave, which is about 30 metres (98 feet) wide and 1 metre (3.2 feet) high. We'll access the cave by descending approximately 10 metres (32 feet) through narrow passages. Are you ready to see this spectacle of nature?

At 8 metres (26 feet) below sea level, there is a crack through which water flows into an underground gallery, forming a beach of stones inside the cave. The sunlight reflecting on the water creates an impressive level of fluorescence. In the darkness of the cave, you'll see a kind of turquoise-green fog with lights that flicker and sparkle like diamonds.

We'll continue our route to Lagoa Verde, a place of emerald waters with a small beach of sand and stones. Did you know that it's home to the Abudefduf fish and other marine species? It's an ideal place for snorkelling!

Our last stop will be at a restaurant on the beach where, if you wish, you can refuel with a delicious typical island meal based on fish and bananas. Yummy!

After lunch, we'll return to the meeting point, where we'll finish the tour after approximately 7 hours of travel.

Frequently asked questions

A - Stops may be changed or cancelled according to the information provided to the captain by the harbour master. No food may be thrown at the fish. The fluorescence phenomenon is very sensitive to the intensity of sunlight, so on cloudy days we won't be able to see it. Part of the tour inside the cave is done by crawling, which means that clothes can get dirty. The boat has a cooler with ice and mineral water. You can also bring your own drinks.
