Nazca, Ica & Paracas 3 Day Tour
Day 1: Ica - Huacachina Lagoon - Ica
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the agreed meeting point, either at your hotel or at the bus terminal in Ica, to start this 3-day tour of Ica.
Firstly, we'll go to the centre of Ica, where we'll admire the main attractions of the city, such as the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. We'll continue with a guided tour of the Regional Museum of Ica, a place where you'll learn about the ancient cultures that inhabited this region. We'll visit its anthropology and biological anthropology rooms, which contain remains from the Paracas and Nazca cultures. The cultural richness will surprise you!
Later, we'll make a stop at a traditional winery in the area, where you'll immerse yourself in the art of Peruvian oenology. Here, you'll be able to taste different types of pisco and wine, outstanding products of Ica.
After this experience, we'll go to the oasis of Huacachina, an authentic paradise in the middle of the desert. We'll get on buggies to explore the dunes and, for those who are up for it, there will be a sandboarding session.
We'll finish the day by dropping you off at your hotel to rest and have dinner on your own.
Day 2: Ica - Paracas - Ica
After breakfast, we'll pick you up to go to Paracas. There, we'll board a boat that will take us to the Ballestas Islands. On the way, we'll be able to admire the enigmatic El Candelabro geoglyph, a mysterious figure engraved in the sand of the peninsula.
Our crossing of the Pacific Ocean will take us to the Ballestas Islands, an archipelago that is home to a great diversity of marine fauna. We'll observe guano birds and, with a bit of luck, even Humboldt penguins! We'll also stop at the sea lion conservation centre to learn more about these animals in their natural environment.
After the boat ride, we'll return to Paracas where you can get yourself some lunch. Feeling refuelled, we'll take a tour of the Paracas National Reserve. We'll visit the Paracas Peninsula viewpoint and enjoy the scenery of the Yumaque, Roja and Lagunillas beaches.
We'll finish the tour at your hotel, giving you the evening free to have dinner on your own and rest.
Day 3: Ica - Nazca - Ica
After breakfast, we'll embark on a journey back in time to Nazca. First of all, we'll visit the Maria Reiche Museum, in honour of the so-called Lady of Nazca, who dedicated her life to the study and research of the enigmatic geoglyphs of this area.
Afterwards, we'll go up to the Maria Reiche viewpoint, from where we'll be able to observe some of the most famous figures of the Nazca Lines, such as the Hand and the Tree. A unique visual spectacle from the heights!
We'll continue our day at the Cantalloc aqueducts, an example of the advanced hydraulic engineering of the ancient Nazca people. We'll also explore the ruins of Los Paredones, an archaeological complex that will reveal more about the life of the pre-Inca civilizations. We'll end our day with a visit to a pottery and gold workshop, where we'll learn about the artisanal process that gives life to these pieces.
Finally, we'll finish the day in Ica at around 4 pm.
