On the excursion to the Ballestas Islands, Tambo Colorado and the Moron Lagoon we'll learn about the history of the Peruvian coast and visit places of great ecological importance.
Ballestas Islands, Tambo Colorado & Moron Lagoon Tour
At 6:30 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ica, and from there we'll travel by road to the El Chaco dock in the bay of Paracas.
There, a boat will be waiting for us to take us to the Ballestas Islands for a panoramic tour of this archipelago, which is a refuge for a multitude of endemic species of fauna.
We'll see the colonies of sea lions and birds such as Humboldt penguins, waders, boobies, seagulls and pelicans. We'll also pass the iconic Candelabro de Paracas, a geoglyph drawn on the rock some 2500 years ago, but its meaning remains a mystery...
On the way back to Paracas, we'll get back on the bus to go to the archaeological site of Tambo Colorado. It's one of the most important Inca settlements on the Peruvian coast, and is made up of adobe constructions. We'll make a tour of its three sectors, and see the remains of buildings such as La Fortaleza.
Afterwards, we'll go to the lagoon of Morón, located in the district of Humay and known for its blue-green waters. Here we'll leave you free time for swimming, sandboarding and lunch in one of its restaurants.
Finally, we'll return to Ica and finish the excursion in the Plaza de Armas between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
