Excursion to the Lost City of Falan
Excursion to the Lost City of Falan
We'll pick you up at 6 am at your hotel in Ibagué and set off north towards one of the most outstanding attractions in the Tolima region: the Lost City of Falan.
Hidden in the thick Tolima jungle, this mysterious enclave is made up of ruins, freshwater waterfalls, and natural pools.
Upon arrival, we'll have breakfast to gather strength for our adventure and start off on a trail in the nature reserve where the Lost City is located. This trail will take us to some ruins belonging to the mines built here by the Spaniards to extract gold and silver.
We'll take a guided tour of the remains of the Lost City of Falan as we try to unravel the mysteries of this amazing place. Why was it abandoned? What happened to the indigenous slaves forced to work in the mines?
At noon we'll take a break for a traditional-style lunch, where we'll get to taste the famous chupao falanense. It's a dish of rice, potatoes, yucca, plantain, egg, and meat, all wrapped in a leaf.
After lunch, we'll walk to the ravines of the Lost City, where we'll leave you free time to bathe in the waterfalls and do some optional activities such as zip-lining or rappelling.
Finally, we'll return to Ibagué and drop you off at your hotel at 8 pm.
