Snowmobile & Langjökull Ice Cave Tour
Snowmobile & Langjökull Ice Cave Tour
After meeting up in Húsafell, we'll set off for the Klaki base camp, where we'll get kitted out in thermal clothing and footwear and learn the basic instructions for driving a snowmobile. This intuitive vehicle, designed especially to be able to drive over the ice, is also a very fun and exciting way to cross the surface of the glacier. Ready for an adrenaline rush?
We'll glide across the ice and snow around Húsafell for around an hour, while enjoying the natural beauty of the Icelandic landscapes surrounding us. Our thrilling route will then take us to the Langjökull ice cave and tunnels.
We'll descend over a thousand feet (300 metres) into the glacier and spend an hour walking around the man-made ice tunnels. As we learn all about the history of this incredible feat of engineering, we'll also get to see the chapel located inside the ice cave. Can you imagine saying "I do" in a chapel made of ice?
Having explored the Langjökull glacier cave and its tunnels, we'll return to the surface and say goodbye in Húsafell.
