Luxor Tour & Valley of the Kings and Queens
Description
When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of three different tours. All of them include pick-up from your hotel in Hurghada at 4:30 am and finish at the same place at 10:30 pm:
After a four-hour drive, we'll arrive in Luxor, where the Temple of Karnak awaits us. This colossal masterpiece, which took over 2000 years to build, is dedicated to the Sun God, Amun-Ra. Did you know that it was the largest temple in Ancient Egypt? We'll get to admire the hieroglyphs on its columns, walk through its hypostyle hall and learn all about the beliefs of the ancient Egyptian civilisation.
After visiting this important monument, we'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. After eating, we'll sail across the Nile by boat to visit the funerary Temple of Hatshepsut. We'll reveal all about this queen, who was the second confirmed female Pharaoh.
Before returning to Hurghada, we'll also visit the famous Colossi of Memnon, two imposing sculptures representing the pharaoh Amenhotep III, which will leave you speechless!
We'll continue the tour by visiting the Valley of the Kings. If you book this option, we'll visit the Colossi of Memnon first, before heading to the Valley of the Queens, an ancient necropolis where the princesses and wives of the pharaohs were buried. We'll visit three tombs to admire the exquisite interior decoration and learn why the ancient Egyptians attached so much importance to funerary rituals.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to the location where Thutmose III, Ramesses VI, Ramesses IX, Siptah, and Ramesses IV are buried. In this valley, Howard Carter also discovered the famous tomb of Tutankhamun. Depending on the availability and the time of year, we'll visit three tombs in total around the whole Valley of the Kings.
Finally, this trip will come to an end by returning to the hotels in Hurghada, where we're expected to arrive after some 13 hours together.
