Algarve Day Trip Itinerary
Leave Spain behind for a day and head to neighboring Portugal. After being picked up the designated time, you'll set off on your excursion, crossing the Guadiana River via the International Bridge, one of the longest in the Iberian Peninsula.
Your route will take you to Loulé, one of the most popular places in the Algarve. We'll visit its castle, also from the Islamic period, and walk through the streets of the old town to get to the Chapel of Our Lady of the Conception. When we get there, we'll head inside to see its 18th-century altarpiece. Loulé's markets are also very popular and are full of fresh produce and Portuguese specialties.
Hop back on the bus, this time heading to Albufeira, one of the Algarve's most emblematic cities. The historic fishing port is home to picturesque whitewashed houses and spectacular paradise beaches. Make the most of your free time here to sample typical local delicacies and enjoy a drink on one of the terraces, taking in unforgettable seafront views.
Afterwards, we'll head to Tavira, a city in the Faro district that's famous for its historic buildings. We'll stroll through its old quarter until we come to its imposing castle, which is the site of numerous legends and plenty of fascinating history.
To put a finishing touch on our adventure, we'll attend a traditional Portuguese fado show. And finally, we'll finish the day trip to the Algarve by returning to Huelva by bus, arriving back at the starting point around 9 hours after pickup.
