Tour of the Sierra Madre del Sur
Sierra Madre del Sur
We'll pick you up from your Huatulco hotel and drive to Santa María de Huatulco, a charming town in the Sierra Madre del Sur. There, we’ll explore its history, legends, main streets, church, market, square, and Municipal Palace.
Next, we'll continue to Pluma Hidalgo, where you'll experience firsthand the changing temperature and vegetation as we ascend. Situated at around 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) above sea level, Pluma Hidalgo is naturally known for its coffee cultivation.
Upon arriving in Pluma Hidalgo, we'll visit a panoramic viewpoint before heading to a coffee farm for a tasting. There, you’ll learn about the coffee production process, including the different varieties, types of beans, and fertilizers used. We’ll explore the plantation's greenhouse, planting area, and the drying and roasting facilities.
You’ll then have free time to explore downtown Pluma Hidalgo before enjoying a traditional Oaxacan lunch.
After lunch, we'll head back to your hotel in Huatulco, with an estimated return time of 6.5 hours after pickup.
