Rocotuyoc Lake Hiking Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from Jiron 28 de Julio before we venture north of the Callejón de Huaylas. On the way, we'll be amazed by the landscape of this valley of the Andes Mountain Range!
After crossing the Honda and Paqcha gorges, and after a 2.5-hour drive, we'll arrive at the Rocutuyoc Lagoon, located at 4,550 metres (14,927 feet) above sea level. Here, we'll take a few minutes to rest and take a lot of pictures—don't forget to bring your camera!
Afterwards, we'll start a 40-minute walk to the Laguna Congelada, at the foot of the Paccharaju and Copa snow-capped peaks. The scenery of this place will leave you speechless! After exploring this lake, we'll return by the same path to the starting point, where the vehicle will be waiting to take us back.
On the way back to Huaraz, we'll stop in the village of Marcará where you can enjoy lunch at any of the local restaurants. Also, if you're travelling between May and August, we'll visit a set of cave paintings.
Finally, we'll return to Huaraz and say our goodbyes after a total of 8 to 9 hours.
