This activity in Huaraz is well worth it. I think it is a must-do in Huaraz. Lagoon 69 is considered one of the best in the world and it is no wonder... You have to see it. The only thing is that to do so you will have to walk 7 km with 700 m of positive gradient (from 3900 to 4600), and another 7 downhill. But I insist that it is worth it. It is 3 hours up and 2 down. Bring food and water!!

Discover Peru's beautiful Cordillera Blanca when you take this fantastic trip to Lake 69 from Huaraz. You'll encounter a unique glacial landscape that you'll never forget!

Lake 69 Trip

Between 5 and 5:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Huaraz before heading by bus to Huascaran National Park, an hour and a half away.

Once there, we'll get out of the vehicle and begin a fantastic hike. During the ascent, you'll encounter the colorful flora and fauna endemic to this area of Peru. If you're lucky, you may spot a puna partridge or Andean condor. Did you know that the Incas believed that the latter was immortal?

After walking for 3 hours, we'll finally arrive at our destination: Lagoon 69. As soon you set eyes on this beautiful lake of intense turquoise waters, you'll completely fall in love with it. There, you'll have an hour of free time to explore its surroundings and enjoy a well-deserved lunch (not included).

If you're brave enough to dive into the water, beware as the temperature is very cold! Afterward, we'll return to the entrance of the park, where the bus will be waiting to take us back to the hotels.

Esta actividad en Huaraz merece mucho la pena. Yo creo que es un imprescindible en Huaraz. La laguna 69 está considerada de las mejores del mundo y no es para menos.... Hay que verla. Lo único es que para ello vas a tener que caminar 7 km con 700 m de desnivel positivo (de 3900 a 4600), y otros 7 de bajada. Pero insisto que merece la pena. Son 3 horas de subida y 2 de bajada. A Laguna 69 é especial, um lugar único feito por Deus, com: rios, montanhas, cachoeiras, animais, muita vegetação típica, várias lagoas maravilhosas pelo caminho. O caminho é fácil no começo, depois fica um pouco difícil com subidas e o último km não chega nunca, mas vale a pena persistir. O Lugar como um todo é uma benção de Deus. Porém, após um dia de caminhada de 7 km de ida e 7 de volta não fizeram nenhuma parada para ir ao banheiro na viagem de volta e não nos deixaram no hotel embora pago

La ruta es dura, aunque habíamos intentado aclimatarnos a mi me costo. Pero vale la pena cuando llegas. El guía nos dio 6 horas para subir,estar y bajar, Suficiente, porque en la bajada se recupera el tiempo. El guía no fue muy informativo, en el autobus nos contó el recorrido, una vez llegamos al inicio de la ruta nos dijo los tiempos y ya no volvimos a verlo hasta que llegamos arriba. Es verdad que cada uno va a su ritmo, pero si hubiera pasada algo no podíamos avisarle. Translate this opinion into English.

La excursión a la Laguna 69 es una ruta de 8km ida y 8km vuelta de cierta dificultad pero que merece la pena. La laguna es más bonita que en fotos incluso, una maravilla. Se tarda una media de 2 a 3 horas en subir y unas 2 horas en bajar.
