Cordillera Blanca Ice Climbing Tour
Description
When making your reservation, you can choose from the following options available. Both options include hotel pickup and drop–off, a climbing guide, and all the mountain climbing equipment necessary.
1-Day climb at Nevado Huarapasca
Our tour kicks off with a 3 am pickup, heading towards Catac, the entry point to Nevado Huarapasca, located in the southern Cordillera Blanca. It's the ideal spot for beginner ice climbing due to its fast, one-day route.
Once we arrive, we'll begin our ascent of Nevado Huarapasca. After an hour of hiking, we'll reach the glacier, where our ice-climbing adventure begins. As we climb, we'll provide expert guidance to ensure your safety throughout the activity.
After four hours of thrilling ice climbing on Huarapasca, we'll conquer the summit. With the captivating Cordillera Blanca views at our disposal, we'll take a well-deserved rest before embarking on the descent.
Finally, we'll return using the same route and drop you off at your hotel in Huaraz around 7 pm.
2-Day climb at Nevado Vallunaraju
Looking for more adventure? If so, we'll set off for Quebrada Llaca to embark on a two to three-hour hike. This hike will lead us to the Nevado Vallunaraju, a part of the Chinchey massif within the Cordillera Blanca.
At the end of our day, we'll return to a base camp at an elevation of 4,500 meters (14,763 feet). Here, we'll set up our tents and rest until the following morning.
After enjoying breakfast, we'll rise early and begin our glacier trekking adventure. This ice-clad hike, requiring crampons, will last approximately four to five hours and is pretty difficult. However, the breathtaking views will make it all worthwhile. From high above, you'll take in sweeping views of Huaraz, Huaylas, and various peaks within the Cordillera Blanca. Following a well-deserved rest, we'll begin our journey back.
Ultimately, we'll drop you off at your Huaraz hotel around 1 pm, bringing this remarkable experience to a close.
3-Day climb at Nevado Ishinca
Opt for this choice, and you'll relish three exciting days of adventure on the iconic Ishinca snow-capped mountain, a renowned peak in the Cordillera Blanca. It towers over stunning landscapes, offering the ideal backdrop for multi-day climbing adventures!
This option starts with a hotel pickup at 8 am. We'll then head north to Platay village. After clearing access control, we'll embark on a three-hour hike through the Palcaraju massif, where we'll set up camp for the night.
Day two is summit day! We'll begin our ascent of Nevado Ishinca, blending hiking and ice-climbing routes throughout the journey. As we ascend to the mountain's highest point, we'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Tocllaraju, Pucaranra, Chinchey, and even larger ones like Urus and Akillpo.
Day two wraps up as we return to the base camp in Palcaraju, where we'll spend the night in our tents. To cap off our thrilling three-day climbing adventure, we'll dismantle the camp on the final day and embark on a trekking journey through the gorge, ultimately reaching Collón.
Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel in Huaraz at approximately 2 pm.
