Snorkelling with Sharks on Faial Island
Activity Details
At the indicated time we'll meet at the port of Horta and get on a boat in search of the sharks that swim off the coastline of Faial Island. Will you dare to swim with them?
We'll approach one of the spots most frequented by blue sharks and try to attract them with some fish. Afterwards, we'll have to wait for these marine creatures to make an appearance.
While we wait, you can get equipped with a mask and snorkel as we reveal a lot of interesting facts about blue sharks. We'll talk about their relationship with humans, discover how many kilometres they can travel during migratory seasons, as well as learn the details of their weight and size.
When the blue sharks appear, you'll be able to swim and snorkel alongside these sharks. You'll see that, contrary to what many believe, these animals are more docile than they appear to be. However, you must respect the guide's instructions at all times.
After an activity lasting between 3 and 5 hours, we'll say goodbye, arriving back at the starting point.
