Did you know that the vineyard landscape of Pico Island is a World Heritage Site? On this tour, you'll discover the flora, fauna, and history of one of the most beautiful islands of the Azores.
Pico Island Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Horta and then take a boat to Pico Island. We'll traverse landscapes of endless vineyards, declared World Heritage Site, and visit the most beautiful villages on this island.
Once we get to the island, we'll explore the village of São Mateus, where one of the oldest parishes on the island is located. We'll also visit a crafts workshop!
We'll then move on to our next stop: Lajes do Pico, the first inhabited spot on the island. There we'll also visit the Museo dos Baleeiros to understand the great importance attached to fishing in this area. If the tour takes place on a Monday, the museum will be closed, so we'll spend more time at the other places visited.
Hungry? We'll have a buffet lunch at a local restaurant and then head to our next destination, the village of São Roque. On the way, we'll stop at Lagoa do Capitão, one of the largest and most famous lagoons in Pico. The views from there will be amazing!
After filling our camera rolls with pictures, we'll go to Vila de São Roque and visit the beautiful parish of Bandeiras. To finish the tour, we'll head to Arcos do Cachorro to admire the striking landscape these sea caves provide.
Finally, we'll drop you back off at your hotel in Horta after 7-8 hours of exploring Pico Island.
