Lake Cabrera Hiking Tour
We'll pick you up at 7:30 am at your hotel in Hornopirén, and from this Chilean town in the Los Lagos region, we'll begin our journey to the trailhead.
Once there, we'll embark on an unforgettable hike through the breathtaking landscapes of Chilean Patagonia, discovering its great diversity of plants and wildlife. During the medium-difficulty route, which is about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) long, we'll traverse beautiful lush forests. We'll get to see a wide variety of botanical species native to this area of the Andes, such as myrtles, tepas, cirguerillos, canelos, ulmos, and lumas, among others.
Following the trail through the dense forest, we'll end up at the spectacular Lake Cabrera, which is located 530 meters (1,700 feet) above sea level, in the foothills of the Hornopirén and Yates volcanoes. While touring the area, we'll explore the source of the Cuchiledo River and learn how an underground spring feeds it.
We'll take a break on the shores of Lake Cabrera to calmly admire the scenery and replenish our energy with a snack bar, a piece of fruit, and a hydrating sports drink. After this light snack, we'll begin our trek back to the trailhead.
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Hornopirén, where we'll arrive at 1:30 pm.
