Waikiki Walking Tour
Waikiki Walking Tour
At the scheduled time we'll meet outside the Honolulu Zoo entrance to begin our walking tour of the Waikiki neighborhood. We'll learn all the secrets of this district famous among surfers and once a retreat for royalty.
We'll first head to Queen's Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Hawaii's capital city. Here, we'll visit the Waikiki Wall, a boardwalk that allows us to enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the coastline and its tall skyscrapers - the perfect place to snap a picture!
Strolling along the coast we'll come across the sculpture of Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympian athlete born in this city and considered the founder of modern surfing. We'll also see the monument commemorating Prince Jonah Kūhiō, providing the perfect opportunity to delve into Waikiki's past in connection with the monarchy.
During the guided tour of Waikiki, we'll discuss the great tourist boom that this area experienced since 1901 with the construction of the impressive Moana Surfrider, the first hotel in the neighborhood. Its charming facade will definitely capture your attention!
After an hour of sightseeing, we'll end our guided tour of Waikiki at the sculpture of King David Kalākaua.
