Waterfalls, craters, black sand... On this excursion to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, we'll travel by plane from Honolulu to discover how this Pacific archipelago was formed!
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Honolulu airport, where we'll take a flight to the island of Hawaii to visit its most famous volcanoes. Ready to learn the secrets of how the island was formed?
Once we arrive at our destination, we'll start the day at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park by contemplating Halema'uma'u, remarkably changed since the June 2018 eruption. We'll tell you why!
Next, we'll arrive at the Kilauea Visitor Center, where we'll see several exhibits and learn about the most active volcano on the island. Here, we'll also admire the geysers and go up to the Kilauea Iki overlook.
Afterwards, a walk through the Kilauea Caldera awaits us, where we'll see sections completely covered with lava expelled by the Kilauea volcano in 2018. We'll then go to the Kealakomo overlook, the perfect spot to view the coastline and lava fields.
After some amazing views, we'll head to Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls, stunning waterfalls located in the heart of Hawaii's rainforest and surrounded by bamboo, orchids, and hanging ferns. It's the perfect place to relax and have a picnic!
And, of course, we have to visit the charming town of Hilo and see its most emblematic sites, such as Richardson's Black Sand Beach or the Lilioukalani Gardens.
Finally, we'll finish the day by taking a flight back to Honolulu, arriving around 9 pm.
